Classification: Full-time
Compensation: $115,000 to $130,000 per year
The primary responsibility of the Category Marketing Director, is
to manage the overall strategic alignment and integrated
implementation of the category business vision and tactical
execution for all products and all identified channels, through
their own efforts and by directing the efforts of others. This role
works with the team to develop, plan and execute the short-term and
long-term business plans to support the overall strategic direction
for the business, driving to results that support the corporate
financial plan. This position is accountable for creating and
managing alignment of all functions and resources within and
supporting the category team, including Market Technology, Product,
Brand, Pricing, Channel, Promotion, Research, Design, Operations,
Finance, Systems, and others; and ensures the various product
managers within the team are integrated in their go-to-market
strategies and tactics. This role is also responsible for driving
growth through new product line extensions and the evolution of the
category as a superior consumer experience, based on market
insights.
The Category Marketing Director leads a staff consisting of 3
direct reports - Sr. Product Manager, Product Manager, Marketing
Specialist.
The Category Marketing Director, must be a leader with broad
business knowledge and management experience - both business growth
and people. The ability to inspire, communicate, and collaborate
across different employee levels and functions is critical.
Knowledge of category management, marketing and business
fundamentals is required. An entrepreneurial perspective and
passion for the specific market space desired. Candidates should
enjoy the challenge of owning, living, and understanding the
consumer and market needs, and delivering products to meet those
requirements. Strong project management skills are required to meet
stated objectives and deadlines. Oral, written, and presentation
skills are important to success. The candidate must be familiar
with technology, the Internet, and be willing to learn new
technology as needed. Must also have demonstrated experience
leading others to successful outcomes to deliver on
accountabilities and drive results.
